Community Action Award Luncheon Set for March 20

The annual presentation of MCAAA's Community Action Awards will take place during our Legislative Conference at a luncheon on March 20 at the Radisson Hotel in downtown Lansing. The awards recognize the achievements and contributions for CAA clients and volunteers. All MCAAA member agencies are encouraged to submit nomination forms for their volunteers and program participants.
Dr. Thomas G. Coon, Director of the Michigan State University Extension, will be the featured luncheon speaker. He will speak about areas of emphasis the Extension shares with Communiy Action Agencies and how to create more collaboration between them. Dr. Coon will also take part in the presentation of this year's Community Action Awards.
MCAAA also uses this event to recognize its Legislator of the Year. In 2011, State Senator and Majority Leader Randy Richardville and State Representative Kate Segal were selected for their support of Community Action programs in their respective districts.
